「メカニカルな等身大ヒーロー」「父と子の宿命」「スピーディーなバトルアクション」といった、新たな要素を取り入れ、これまでのウルトラマン像を大きく覆した本シリーズは、「第47回 アニー賞」でBest Direction - TV/Mediaにノミネート、「VFX-JAPANアワード2020」TV・配信番組アニメCG部門で最優秀賞を受賞するなど、国内外で高い評価を獲得しました。

そして2023年春。シリーズを締めくくるFINALシーズンがNetflixにて全世界独占配信！

The Anime ULTRAMAN finale comes this Spring, 2023
ULTRAMAN FINAL Season, a magnificent end!

After Season 1 was internationally released on Netflix in 2019, followed by Season 2 in 2022, Anime ULTRAMAN has gained popularity with audiences not only in Japan but across the globe.

Incorporating new themes like “mechanical human-size heroes”, “the destiny of father and son” and “high-speed action” that runs counter to the Ultraman formula, Anime ULTRAMAN went on to garner national and international acclaim, such as being nominated for Best Direction in TV/Media in the 47th Ani Awards, and won best TV Anime in the CG Animation division at the VFX-Japan Awards 2020.

Now in Spring 2023, the final Season bringing the series to an end, releases worldwide on Netflix.
The series’ source material is the comics created by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi.
( Currently serialized on Comiplex ( https://viewer.heros-web.com/ ）with 19 volumes ). Publication of the comics has expanded into 24 countries with translations into 11 languages.
The new worldview that the comics brought gained interest and support from many young readers, eventually accumulating into a hit series that produced over 4 million copies.
The animated series currently follows the same story as the comics. While keeping the spirit of the source material, now the series diverges into an alternate answer to the questions that the comics was based on.

Undertaking this monumental animation project is a pair of directors. Director Kenji Kamiyama has gained enormous support from animation fans around the world for his storytelling that layers human drama with rich sci-fi in titles such as STAND ALONE COMPLEX and Napping Princess. He is joined by Co-director Shinji Aramaki, known for titles such as APPLESEED and Star Ship Troopers: Invasion, he pioneered 3DCG Animation in Japan and has gained international acclaim for his CG mechanical gadget designs and action scenes.

Anime ULTRAMAN is created from the combined efforts of these two world-famous creators. Although it is produced in full 3DCG Animation, celshaded style animation (close to conventional animation) is also used to preserve the original comics designs of the characters.

This breaking animation production is co-produced by Production I.G & SOLA DIGITAL ARTS. It combines motion capture technology to reflect the acting of each character’s voice, 3DCG that showcases the intricate details of the ULTRAMAN Suit designs, and the dynamic action that can only be experienced through animation.
This spring, the latest modern animation professionals complete a new space legend for Japan’s iconic science-fiction hero, Ultraman!

STORY

かつて、ウルトラマンが倒れた「あの戦い」。
それを「悪夢」に見た進次郎（ULTRAMAN）は、しだいに、自分の《力》が抑えられなくなり、制御できなくなってきていることに気づく。
その力が暴走し、街を破壊し、人々を傷つけるとき、ウルトラマンは「人類の厄災」と呼ばれ、糾弾される存在となる…。

変身を封じられ、追われる身となった進次郎に対し、科特隊は非情の命令を下す。「科特隊、ウルトラマン（進次郎）を捕縛せよ！」
大切なものを失い、孤独の中を逃走する進次郎を待ち受ける運命の嵐！
その混乱の影で、暗躍する最凶の異星人軍団！
光を継ぐ者たちが次々に葬られていくなか、進次郎に《更なる覚醒》の時が迫る。

Long ago, “the battle” spelled the end for Ultraman.
Shinjiro (ULTRAMAN) who saw the scene play out in a nightmare begins to realize he can no longer keep his abilities under control and struggles to contain them.
His power is unleashed beyond his control, the city is destroyed, and people are hurt. Society begins to call Ultraman a “disaster of mankind” and the hero becomes a target for condemnation.
Unable to transform and on the run, the SSSP issues a chilling order. “All SSSP members are to bring Ultraman (Shinjiro) under arrest!”
Shinjiro, alone and having lost everything, finds himself in the middle of a maelstrom of fate!
In the shadows of the confusion, an ominous alien force moves in secret!
As the heroes who inherited the light are buried behind the scenes, a time of “new awakening” comes to Shinjiro.
Will the awakening herald good news for humanity, or signal its’ downfall?

Following the legendary Ultra 6 Brothers, the 6 Warriors (ULTRAMAN, SEVEN, ACE, ZOFFY, JACK, TARO) assemble to face against an alien conspiracy of galactic scale!

Since it began streaming on Netflix in 2019, the anime ULTRAMAN has garnered popularity with fans not only in Japan, but the world over. The series incorporates the themes of a father and son's linterlinking fates, and Life-Sized Ultra heroes. It has received both domestic and international acclaim, being nominated for Best Direction in TV/Media at the 47th Annie Awards and was awarded Best TV/Streaming Anime CG at the VFX Japan 2020 Awards.

Season 2 is set to begin worldwide streaming from Spring, 2022.
Young photographer Kotaro Higashi encounters a mysterious missing persons case. He takes a photo proving that it was the work of aliens and brings it to the SSSP with his girlfriend Izumi. However, a certain incident transforms him into a superhuman with incredible fiery superpowers. Then, a familiar massive cosmic weapon appears before the human-sized Ultraman…

The original work for the anime is the comics produced by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi.
Currently a serial publication with 17 chapters through Comiplex (https://viewer.heros-web.com/),
it is expanding publication into 11 languages and 24 different countries.
The new worldview which this comic introduced garnered adoration and support from many young fans, becoming a hit-seller, with cumulative publications at over 4 million copies.

Taking the reins are director Kenji Kamiyama, of "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" and "Napping Princess," and director Shinji Aramaki, behind "APPLESEED" and "Starship Troopers: Traitors of Mars."

Director Kamiyama has undying support from animation fans across the world for his profound Science Fiction settings, and his portrayal of multi-layered human drama storytelling. Director Shinji Aramaki is one the leading Japanese full 3DCG animation movie producers and has received critical acclaim overseas for his design of mechanical gadgets in CG animation.

ULTRAMAN, being undertaken by this pair of globally accredited creators, is also being made in full 3DCG animation. Cell shading is used to ensure the characters keep the look of the original work (a finish similar to traditional animation). It allows character portrayals that both fans of the manga and the anime will find familiar. Production IG and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS are using a mixture of motion capture technology to reflect the actor’s performance against the Ultraman Suits’ intricate textures in 3DCG, as well as incorporating the dynamic action that can only be expressed through animation.
Japan’s treasured hero Ultraman is born again in Anime ULTRAMAN and opens a new chapter in his history to the rest of the world.

STORY

世界中で地球人の大量消滅事件が発生──。レナと進次郎も、同時に消失してしまう。

そんな中、フリージャーナリストの東光太郎は恋人のイズミとともに「消失事件」の謎を追い始める。
異星人の正体はテロ組織「暗黒の星」。彼らは世界に向けて声明を出す。
「人類の半分を消滅させるか、地球の半分を割譲するか……どちらかを選べ」

その頃、消えた進次郎とレナは衛星軌道の異星人の船に転送されていた。
「暗黒の星」と科特隊の闘いに巻き込まれ、知りすぎた光太郎は、命を失いそうになるが……。

決戦の相手は巨大兵器「黄金の城塞」。
街を破壊し尽くす巨大メカを相手に、ULTRAMAN、セブン、エースに加え、ゾフィー・ジャック・タロウも参戦。

A global mass disappearing event takes place among humanity.
Rena and Shinjiro simultaneously vanish.
In the wake of these events, freelance journalist Kotaro Higashi investigates this mysterious "disappearance incident."
The aliens behind it are the terrorist organisation Dark Star.
They transmit a message to those on Earth.
"Give us half of the Earth, or sacrifice half of its people... make your choice".
At the same time, the recently disappeared Rena and Shinjiro are teleported
to the Dark Star ship orbiting the Earth.

Learning too much, Kotaro is caught in the crossfire between Dark Star and the SSSP, and is almost left for dead....
In the final battle, our heroes face off against the Golden Fortress.

There once was a Giant of the Light who protected the earth from monsters and alien invasions. The name was Ultraman. He was assimilated with Hayata, a member of the SSSP. Years have passed after completing his mission of combating the earth from these threats, and humans have gained peace. However, this was only just for a short moment.

Now, once again earth needs the power of the “Giant of the Lights”, and the hero who inherited the genes of the Light now rises. However, the hero was not a giant, but a regular high schooler with worries and troubles in a metallic powered suit.
The story of Shinjiro Hayata’s, the son of the once Ultraman Shin Hayata, story of strive and struggle as he becomes the next generation Ultraman now begins!

Ultraman first appeared on TV in 1996. Now half a decade later, 2011, the comic “ULTRAMAN” (Eiichi Shimizu x Yuya Shimoguchi) has begun. “ULTRAMAN” is based on the story after Ultraman had left earth. The new series is based on a story of a “relatable hero” who wears a metallic powered suit as the new Ultraman. He is the son of the once Ultraman, with worries and troubles. This story plot had become very popular among young audiences and is now a hit series selling 2.8 million copies.

The anime version of this “ULTRAMAN” will be a whole new challenge. Kenji Kamiyama, known for directing Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and Napping Princess, will team up with Shinji Aramaki, the director of APPLESEED and Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars, to co-direct this series.

Kenji Kamiyama, who is popular among animation fans in and out of Japan with his profound science fiction story lines and human drama, and Shinji Aramaki who is the pioneer of full CG anime in Japan, well known in other countries for his CG Mechanic Gadget Action, team up. “ULTRAMAN” composed of these two extraordinary creators will be in full 3DCG animation. Production I.G. and SOLA DIGITAL ARTS will work together as the production team. The anime is made with the use of motion capture technology, the precise details of the Ultraman Suit with the 3DCG, and the dynamic actions.

STORY

かつてこの世界には〈光の巨人〉と呼ばれる存在がいた。やがて〈光の巨人〉はその役目を終え、遠い宇宙にある自らの故郷へと帰還し、同化していた地球人はそれまでの記憶を失うことで自らの在るべき場所へと戻っていった。ウルトラマンの存在は過去のモノとなり、科学特捜隊日本支部もその役割を終えて、光の巨人記念館へとその姿を変えていた。

早田進次郎は多感な思春期を過ごす高校生。だが彼は、自分が驚異的な跳躍力や頑丈な肉体といった人間離れした“普通”ではない力を持っていることを自覚していた。

そんなある日、進次郎は父・早田進が、かつてウルトラマンであったことを知る。
そしてウルトラマン無き地球に暗躍する宇宙人たちの存在も。
進次郎は、秘匿組織として健在する科学特捜隊の井手によって開発されたウルトラマンスーツを着用できる数少ない適合者だった。

「単刀直入に言おう――キミにウルトラマンになってもらいたい」

In this world, there once was a figure called the <Giant of the Light>. After completing his mission, he had gone back to his homeland. He had erased all memories relating to him, giving humans the peace they once had. The story is based on a world where <Giant of the Light = Ultraman> is now the past.

The high schooler, Shinjiro Hayata, notices that he has “special powers”. Unbelievable jumping skills, strength well over humans, and a body too powerfully built were just enough for him to realize he is not “normal”.

One day, he finds out that his father was once Ultraman. Shinjiro who has inherited those genes is one of the few who can wear the Ultra Suit.

“I will say this straight up – I want you to become Ultraman.”
